PBL stands for Plastic Barrier Laminate, meaning the tubes are comprised of several plastic layers and a suitable barrier layer - usually EVOH - to protect your products.

The multi-layered laminate structure makes it possible to reduce the use of petroleum-based plastics in the body of our RECY tubes by up to 50% compared to conventional extruded plastic tubes. These PBL tubes are also characterised by their excellent recyclability.
Like all tubes from Pirlo, our Pirlo RECY can be designed with superior finishing. We are particularly proud of our “Protect Yourself” tube, with received the Austrian National Packaging Prize in the “point of sale” category in 2014, and the WorldStar Packaging Award in 2016. Our Pirlo RECY was individually designed with images featuring different sports for the “Protect Yourself” tube, using our unique digital printing production process. This innovative printing process enables the consumer to identify with the individual design of the tube, and offers small companies the opportunity to launch new products.
